About Me

jodi klass

Hi, my name is Jodi Klass and I am the founder of, and Chief Change Agent for, mpowr.me, a place for women to find balance in their daily lives and as a result, obtain a sense of empowerment. When thinking of a name for my fitness business, empowerment came to me because of the inclusion of the word “power”. But how can we feel empowered, when often times we feel so powerless. It all comes down to balance.

So what is balance you ask? It can mean different things to different people. It could mean making sure you get a workout in during a day or finding time to hang with friends, enjoying a healthy meal, or establishing a nighttime ritual to sleep more restfully. Well, I say it is all of these things and more. After all, who doesn’t want to be happier, healthier, more productive, active and energetic and enjoy their leisure time more? I know what you are saying to yourself, easier said than done, but it starts with small changes over time that in the long run brings consistent results.

A bit of background on me, I was gymnast growing up and lucky enough to compete at a collegiate level. I was injured during my freshman year, but after rehab continued to go to the gym. I majored in Nutrition and after college received my R.D. to practice as Registered Dietitian. I worked in a hospital meeting with acute patients to discuss their diets. I quickly realized that this was not the path that I wanted to follow. It was wellness I wanted to focus on. Well, 3 kids later, a divorce, and 20 years OUT of the workforce , all the while maintaining my love for fitness and nutrition, has lead me down a new path of starting my own personal business … and to help other women feel empowered. I have gone through many stages of health and well being, both physical and mental, and finding that balance for myself (although always a struggle) is what has motivated me to help other women do the same.

Women’s lives can become very kid-centric (mine did) or work-centric and we often tend to neglect our own needs: the need to move purposefully, eat mindfully, sleep restfully, and find time to be playful that we all need in order to nourish our souls. We often make excuses why we can’t find the time to do for ourselves, when in actuality it’s those small conscious decisions to do for yourself that will serve you for the long term. I am here to help you with these decisions and be that little voice in your head that says “do it for yourself … now”. I will also be the voice pushing and motivating you through custom workouts. Seeing and feeling progress begins the process of feeling empowered. My reason for starting mpowr.me is all about you. I will guide you on your path towards balance, a greater sense of self and eventually allow you to obtain that ever elusive feeling of empowerment. It starts with you and I am here to help.

Four Quadrants

Purposeful Movement

Purposeful Movement

Your body is designed to move, yet so many settle in to a pattern of being sedentary not knowing how to “restart their engines.” Movement should be enjoyable, but goal driven. Discussing and determining your purpose for exercising will enable me to design a program and guide you through exercises that are challenging and help you reach your goals. You will gain the knowledge of why your movements are important for your overall fitness program. The best part…you may also find it fun!

Mindful Eating

Mindful Eating

Paying more attention to what you eat, gaining awareness and focusing on what truly nourishes your body is empowering. You should take the time to enjoy what you eat yet strive to eat nutrient dense foods that support your body’s health.  Trying new foods and discovering a sustainable plan and strategies for successful eating makes you healthier , more energetic and ultimately happier.

Restful Sleeping

Restful Sleeping

This quadrant is often neglected. For myself I learned that when I do not give my body and mind the rest it needs, my entire next day feels “off”. Rest is essential for proper hormonal balance, body recovery and repair after exercise and for overall wellbeing and rejuvenation.  Creating nighttime rituals to promote more restful nights will make for more productive, empowering days.

Playful living

Playful living

Discussing what makes you feel good. Whether it is a walk on the beach, a dinner with friends, or being intimate, playing is an essential part of a balanced life. Often we tend to do for others and not put forth the effort to do for ourselves . The rewards in this particular quadrant are purely for pleasure BUT create a balanced and more empowered experience of life. It is essential!
